At home with Lana Wilman

Tucked away in a calm part of Surrey, close to a picturesque stretch of the River Thames, is the stunning modernist home of Lana Wilman, Agency Owner and Creator. We visited Lana to talk about the Spicy Revival Art Collection and all things interior design.

So what does home mean to Lana? “It’s somewhere that I feel safe and cozy. We moved into this house almost a year ago and I live here with my fiancé, Drew, and the light of my life, my dog, Odie”

She explains that it was love at first sight when she saw the house online: “We just instantly fell in love. Then when we walked into the space, everything felt like exactly what we've always been looking for.”

With large glass doors opening onto an outdoor space, the house effortlessly blends indoors and out.

“I love the combination of the concrete, wood, and brick.  By mixing in all my fun and colourful design pieces, it makes the perfect home for us.” The house itself was nominated for a prestigious architectural award.

Perfect for autumn

Lana loved exploring Spicy Revival to find pieces for her home: “I enjoyed finding prints and canvases that sparked joy. I love art that makes me happy – whether it's funny, or cute, or just inspiring.”

As a self-confessed summer girl, the Spicy Revival Collection with its rich oranges and vintage feel, made Lana fall in love with autumn again. “It’s as everything you want autumn to be – it really made me look forward to the season.”

She recently redecorated her bathroom with gorgeous glossy red tiles. “I genuinely think this room perfectly reflects the Spicy Revival Collection in terms of colour and vibe. I love Marbled Garden in here because it breaks up a lot of the reds and oranges in here with the pops of blue. It makes me feel so serene.”

Transforming her home with art

Art is vital to Lana’s interior design process. “I use art in any corner of my home that is a little bit quiet or needs something to make it more homely and fun.”

Her creative process always includes lots of colour. “If there's anything I love, it's a whole abundance of colours, patterns and things.  Sometimes it can feel nerve wracking doing it, but as soon as you start, it’s just the best way of decorating.”

Lana first collaborated with Desenio back in the early days of her career. “I love that there's something for everyone and different sizes to fit people's needs. There are different styles too – anyone I know could find a piece of artwork they would love at Desenio!”

A lifetime of interior styling

Lana is always rearranging the furniture, something she has been doing for a long time: “When I was a child, it was way past my bedtime my mum would come in and I'd be moving my bed around, and she’d ask ‘Lana, what are you doing? You’re meant to be in bed!’ That translated into my adult life because I'm constantly doing it!” she laughs.
