The Home Edit with Jules Villbrandt
Jules Villbrandt is a magazine founder and creative producer based in Berlin, Germany. We’ve been working with Jules for many years, but we were thrilled to travel to her cozy apartment with selected designs from the 2026 Holiday Collection for the latest Home Edit.

For Jules, home is always somewhere that feels lived in. “It’s the people, the books, the art, things you bring back from trips, and objects with memories attached to them. I don’t think a home has to be perfect at all. Actually, I like it much more when it isn’t.”
Her years working with creative people are evident in her home, where ‘collected’ is definitely a word that comes to mind. She describes her style as personal, eclectic and curated. Art and recipe books bring color and character to the space while specially chosen ceramic pieces enhance shelves and create a more dynamic feel. She follows her intuition when choosing art for her home. “For me, art is never really the finishing touch, it’s part of the interior from the beginning. It can make a room feel warmer, more personal or completely change its energy.”
Which space does she love most at home? “Probably our living space. It’s where everything happens and where all the different parts of our life come together. We live in an old Berlin Altbau house and art brings warmth into the space and art makes it feel much more like us.”
Creating a seasonal feeling at home

What was it that drew her to the holiday collection in particular? “It’s warm, cozy and festive, but not in an overly Christmas-y way. I like that a lot of the pieces have that seasonal feeling without only working for a few weeks of the year.”
In the kitchen, Jules curated a bold gallery wall, blending canvases and prints with colored frames and varying the sizes to create a vibrant yet inviting look.
“I didn’t really start with a strict concept. I just chose things I was instantly drawn to color, photography, interesting shapes, a certain mood. I like when art feels a little unexpected and when different pieces work together without looking too coordinated.”

Using color and getting inspired by travel
Over the dark green velvet sofa in the living room, Jules picked a Studio Vreeken piece on canvas called ‘The Christmas Band’. Together with a light oak frame, the painting’s palette mirrors many of the colors in Jules’s space, picking up the muted neutrals in the walls and the dark green from the sofa together with a joyful splash of orange.
When Jules decorates, she tends to avoid rules, and focus instead on how the room should feel. “In a children’s room it can be more playful or colorful, while in the kitchen I might choose something graphic or a photograph I just enjoy looking at. But honestly, if I really love something, I’ll usually find a place for it somewhere. Nevertheless, my daughter Jolanta has also a strong mind and helped me to choose some pieces.”

She draws on her travels to find inspiration. “I notice interiors everywhere: hotels, restaurants, museums, people’s homes, even small cafés. But also fashion, photography, books and just everyday life.” With this Home Edit, it becomes clear how it’s possible to add subtle seasonal details to a space without it taking over. The key is warmth, connection, and genuinely liking the pieces you choose.

This thinking is especially relevant when decorating for the holidays. Rather than transforming a home for a few weeks, Jules shows how small shifts in color, art and atmosphere can bring a sense of the season while still feeling entirely your own.
